Cubs
Cub Scouts offers activities for young people aged 8 – 10 including games, crafts, exploring as well as learning new skills to work towards a wide range of badges. 7th Elland Cub Scouts also get to go on camps and trip to places like the observatory in Todmerden and camping at Bradley Wood.
Recognised by their Green Sweatshirts, Cub Scouts enjoy a fun and exciting weekly programme, that challenge them to ‘do their best’.

During the Cub evening we run a fun and exciting programme, some of our sessions work toward badges that also encourage the development of lifelong skills to support the Cubs becoming independent, like our First Aid and Chef badge.
Our activities are planned to work towards our vast array of badges.
- Scouting Staged Badges, such as Navigator, Sailing, Community Impact
- Cub Activity Badges, such as DIY, where we have previously made bird boxes and key holders. Other Activity badges include; Pioneer, Local Knowledge, Fire Safety, Astronomer.
- Challenge Badges; Personal, Teamwork, Team Leader, Our Skills, Our World, Our Outdoors, Our Adventure ultimately working towards earning the highest award a Cub can earn our Scout Silver Award.
